To order a repeat prescription
- Use your Patient Access account (on the Patient Access website or in the Patient Access app).
- Use the repeat ordering slip on your previous prescription. Leave it at the surgery or post it to us.
Please be aware that it will take us 72 working hours for your prescription request to be authorised and available for collection at either your nominated pharmacy or a paper prescription from reception. Only order a repeat prescription if you have less than 7 days of medication remaining.
Electronic prescriptions service (EPS)
If you get regular prescriptions or are already using a prescription collection service (where a pharmacy collects prescriptions from your GP practice for you) then choosing a pharmacy to dispense all your prescriptions may save you time by avoiding unnecessary trips to your GP.
You will still order your repeat prescriptions in the same way as you do now, but your prescriptions will be sent electronically to the pharmacy or dispenser of your choice.
You will not have to collect a paper repeat prescription from your GP practice.
We have a duty to review your health and medicines regularly. We will let you know if you need to make an appointment for a medication review with either our practice nurses or your doctor.

NHS prescription charges and exemptions
A GP in the surgery can only provide a private prescription if the medication is not available on the NHS.
A private prescription is not written on an official NHS prescription and so is not paid for by the NHS. A prescription is a legal document for which the doctor, who has issued and signed it, is responsible. A doctor you see privately is unable to issue an NHS prescription.
The cost of a private prescription is met wholly by the patient and is dictated by the cost of the medicine plus the pharmacists charge for supplying it. Our fee for issuing patients with a private prescription is £15.
